This CNN piece has the texts of the speech highlighted:

http://www.cnn.com/2016/07/19/politics/melania-trump-michelle- obama-speech/index.html

It's pretty clear that Melania's handlers simply copied a portion of Michelle's speech, then rewrote the parts with big words so their retarded audience could understand those parts.

Even after everything I've read, Trump & his campaign continue to amaze.

Grifters gonna grift.

chumbucket - 2016-07-19

Error in the Matrix.

Scrotum H. Vainglorious - 2016-07-19

Don't forget the rickroll.

bawbag - 2016-07-19

5 for the rickroll some sneaky bastard speechwriter stuck in there.

jangbones - 2016-07-19

Consider how completely batshit this entire concept is. A speechwriter for the GOP snuck a rickroll into a prime time speech at the party's convention.

Not to imply that's not exactly what happened. Because that's exactly what happened.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2016-07-19

Amazingly, the RickRoll explanation seems to make the most sense.

poorwill - 2016-07-20

Reminds me of Herman Cain quoting the Pokemon movie - just too insane to be real, but it is. Republicans man.

Oscar Wildcat - 2016-07-20

You've got to see it from the writers perspective. You're tasked with putting whipped cream on shit, and the instructions say "write for 3rd grade level". That doesn't leave a lot of room for maneuvering. You're going to be stretching for source materials, no? Hence these little sins.

I found it remarkable that the Trump Campaign explained the issue by blaming a script writer. So it's OK if Melania reads someone else's opinions about her father, so long as they are original? Someone explain this to me...

Oscar Wildcat - 2016-07-20

Or husband, or slam piece, or whatever the fuck kind of relationship Juan and Evita Peron 2.0 have.

Sexy Duck Cop - 2016-07-19

A group of sociologists once took the events from the book of Joshua and replaced "Joshua" with "General Ling," and "Israelites" with "Communists", then asked whether or not Joshua's actions were just. About 95% said no.

Whoever decided to troll Republicans into standing up and applauding an Obama speech: Bravo.

fedex - 2016-07-19

Clearly, her speech was written by Stephen Colbert

The Mothership - 2016-07-19

Oh my I missed the rick roll when I was watching it last night, kids were screaming. This is wonderful.

I want to see some Pokemon references next.

jangbones - 2016-07-19

"What's harder to find, Hillary's emails or a Mewtwo? Amirite?

(Cut to floor, old white people turn to look at each other quizzically, shrug)

Bort - 2016-07-19

Damon Young at VSB nailed it:

"I won’t say too much more about poor Melania, because every joke worth making has already been made. Instead, I’ll just say that the only person feeling worse than her about her speech this morning is Steve King. All that fuss about the master race. And then, a couple hours later, the Grand Wizard’s wife refutes that entire argument by stealing the words from a regular Black girl from the South Side."

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2016-07-19

This story doesn't need a punch line, but it's got one. The Trump campaign is blaming this fuckup on Hillary Clinton What? Huh?

I'M not joking, I'm not exaggerating, and I can't explain it. Apparently, they're not explaining it either. Personal responsibility is a mysterious thing.

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2016-07-19

This had to be on purpose. Whoever the speechwriter was had to have done this on purpose to fuck their shit up.

cognitivedissonance - 2016-07-19

She's now saying its a quote from Princess Celestia.

Lord_Crocodilicus - 2016-07-19

Another brilliant 4D chess move I'm sure.

http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2016-07-19/did-michelle-obama-al so-borrow-her-2008-speech

^^^^
This is the reaction. People are actually latching onto this.
She should've just given the speech in one of her other languages rather than pulling out the ol' thesaurus.

But yeah that speech writer is probably gonna get Vince Foster'd

Rafiki - 2016-07-19

Rickrolling and My Little Pony? Is 4-Chan really that big of voting bloc?

Old_Zircon - 2016-07-19

Look where they put Trump.

dairyqueenlatifah - 2016-07-19

So far I've heard this "mix up" blamed on both Hilary Clinton and My Little Pony.

.......................

I keep hoping this election is just one huge fever dream that I'm going to wake up from. Please God, make it stop.

decoy - 2016-07-19

Reported today that W. Bush is wondering aloud if he's the last republican president. So, so fitting.

SolRo - 2016-07-20

On the other end of the spectrum, Bo-Bernie-bro white hipsters are actually blaming Michelle for not making a fiery socialist speech with only leftist dialogue throughout.

They compared her speech to historical speeches of sitting presidents, because she was in that exact same position of power being the wife of a yet-unelected candidate.

Bort - 2016-07-20

It's getting harder and harder to distinguish between Bernie's more avid supporters (the Bernie-or-Bust crowd) and Teabaggers these days. I say it's because there is very little difference, the only big one being, Bernie-or-Busters see The Man as an oppressor, while Teabaggers see The Man as a benefactor. All it takes is a change in income to flip from one to the other; not a single principle has to change, because it was never about principles, it's about who can give them a better deal.

Though of late, even some of the Bernie-or-Busters have turned against their man-god for backing Hillary. Gee kids, what do you suppose happened there? You don't think Bernie painted himself into a corner by saying Hillary was unqualified and corrupt and so forth because those were crowd-pleasers, do ya? Maybe he shouldn't have been such a pandering worm.

Oh well, there's always Jill Stein MD. Who recently couldn't find it in herself to say that vaccines save lives and don't listen to the cranks, because wouldn't you know it, she has her own crowd to pander to. Some of whom are anti-vaxxers and others are just opposed to Big Pharma and everything it does; either way, they don't want to hear that you should get your kids vaccinated so they don't die of preventable diseases. Funny how you've got these insurgent candidates on the Left who claim to be all principled and shit, until the moment when they have to say something that might displease their base, and they can't bring themselves to do it.
