"Vote your conscience" is the best advice any mainstream politician has given all election season, and it is likely to be the only real truth spoken for some time.

The fact that people from Team John Cena and Team AJ Styles are *both* going nuts trying to find fault with his observation, is absurd and extremely disheartening... but also, perhaps, unsurprising.

"Vote your conscience" = Throwing your vote away.

Voting one's conscience, for any meaningful meaning of "conscience", should involve considering the consequences of one's vote. Hillary is the best candidate out there who has an actual chance of winning, so conscience dictates voting for Hillary.

While I'll probably vote for her, I live in a state that is literally guaranteed to go blue, so in my case conscience could dictate voting for a downticket candidate.

And really, that's all democracy asks of you, because the powers that be don't really care what you say or what you think. So you might as well say and think what is in your heart, rather than trying to metagame it as the masters would have you do.

Cena - Could you please define "throwing one's vote away"? Given that one's vote has absolutely no bearing on the outcome of the election - and that the election itself has little or no bearing on the course the government will take, let alone the course of society at large - can it ever be said that one is in a position to NOT throw one's vote away? To have one's vote "count"?

In fact, the only benefit voting can *possibly* bring is a psychological benefit, on the purely individual level. That is to say, while voting has no demonstrable outward effect on the election (it is the political equivalent of praying to Isis), voting CAN provide the voter with a sense of comfort and well-being, regardless of how unearned and illusory that wellbeing may be. Of course, this psychic benefit will only be enjoyed when one votes according to one's conscience!

So I submit to you the following: that the only way to not throw your vote away, is to do as Mr Cruz says, and vote your conscience. Otherwise, you are not just wasting your time (as all voters do), but you are also being intellectually and ethically dishonest with yourself, and thereby "throwing away" the only tangible benefit that you might have otherwise enjoyed.

Also, you do realize that John Cena is going to vote for Trump, right? He's a company man; he won't leave Vince and Linda hanging.

Voting for a third party is a total waste. The democrats learned it hard in 2000 with Nader, the GOP will learn it hard with Gary Johnson. Cena wouldn't vote for Trump, he doesn't kiss the ass of the authority, he kicks the ass of the authority.

The two main issues uniting the party is hatred for Hillary and fear. It's a big scary world with scary people so they have to have tons of guns and tough leader willing to nuke the fuck out of our enemies.

Funny how these outsiders are "truth tellers" until it's up to them to speak unpleasant truths, then we find out what worms they really are.

He was done long before this. It's hard to overstate just how despised Ted Cruz is. He's hated by his own party even more than the Democrats, who still hate him immensely.

I don't think it's a matter of him being fed to the lions since the GOP's dinosaurs are undoubtedly standing beside him. It's more of a desperation move than anything else. Establishment Republicans like Cruz and Kasich have no choice but to fight for their political lives because they're facing extinction if they don't stamp out the populism that Trump personifies. Unfortunately for them, Trump isn't the architect of it. Even if he loses, the growing spirit of discontent that both parties have been trying to ignore for decades is here to stay.

It does make me wonder how the left is going to handle our own inevitable fragmentation too, considering how close we've come already. Looking at both parties feels like watching Kurt Russell and Keith David lying in the antarctic snow, flamethrowers trained on each other, waiting for the other to fall apart.
