The food's not so great, but the robot claw at table 4 is totally hot so I keep going back.

Oscar Wildcat - 2016-07-24

How about that plating, huh? Nothing screams "night out for fine dining" like a TV dinner tray with deep pockets to protect the food from "mixing".

Binro the Heretic - 2016-07-24

Wow, rich people sure do hate paying poor people to do work.

And yet, they love subjugating them.

If only they could find a way of forcing poor people to work for free...

Pillager - 2016-07-24

It's all fun & games until the machines break down or someone with a fatal peanut allergy gets the wrong order.

bopeton - 2016-07-24

Intentionally doing things inefficiently just so everyone has a "job" is such an economic disaster. We could tear down all the traffic lights and have people directing traffic like in North Korea, or put an elevator operator in every elevator to push buttons for us.

Meanwhile the price of a cheeseburger goes up to and disposable income is a distant memory.

Binro the Heretic - 2016-07-24

Or, since we have the technology to do so, we could make all basics free or at least extremely cheap for everyone.

But that goes back to the subjugation thing. Many people just don't like it when a group they consider to be of "lower" status than themselves gets a little help. Status, being a relative thing, when someone else gets a little boost to their status, you feel as if your status has been somehow reduced.

That's why the biggest opponents of a /hr minimum wage are the people who currently make about /hr.

Uprising against forced slavery and shit existence conditions put upon the powerless by the rich will be yet another job robots take from humans. Remember, when RCNN airs the Koch Brothers being force fed with a jackhammer and twelve tubs of lard into the organic fuel refinery vat, that could have been your dream job.

Nominal - 2016-07-24

Hahahahahaha, remember when slavery was legal and everyone enjoyed a golden age of the most prosperous time in history?

Thanks, Lincoln :(

memedumpster - 2016-07-24

Pepperidge Farm remembers!

baleen - 2016-07-24

I could see Golden Corral/grand buffet cheapasses eating here.
If you had big portions and it was a few bucks cheaper than Olive Garden, millions of shitty people wouldn't give a fuck.

memedumpster - 2016-07-25

Every chef will be able to get a new job repairing the cooking robots for the same pay!

Oscar Wildcat - 2016-07-24

Well someone will be rolling in money: imagine your average restaurant owner trying to run and maintain a full up computerized robotic assembly line for food. I mean, most everyone I know can barely maintain their phones and laptops.

Lurchi - 2016-07-24

related Dahir Insaat videos are well worth checking out

cognitivedissonance - 2016-07-24

I think the appeal would be the Arab petrodollar states, especially as their unfortunate tendency to resort to blackmail wage slavery becomes public knowledge. Also, cruise ships are the most logical application for this. Carnival already employs entirely automated bartending systems, this is just the next step.

baleen - 2016-07-24

Yeah good point. Cruise ships and starbases.
Cruise ships have a serious issue with food poisoning and this seems like a logical solution, especially since the kinds of people that go on cruises have absolutely no morals and they hate seeing brown people even if it means they're waiting on them.

Rafiki - 2016-07-24

This is one of those ludicrous patent grab videos, isn't it? Nothing about this is practical or economical.

I want to see this get made so that during the Skynet uprising the delivery poles slam down onto tables like pistons creating some kind of restaurant fear engine.

And give up the little thrill I get from treating waitstaff like shit? I don't think so.
