Then again, he's a Catholic, and I've had conversations with more than a couple of Catholics where someone brings up the Bible's passages about slavery and the apologetic stance they'll use is just that; "They were taken care of! Because apparently there's way to treat a SLAVE well and a situation where OWNING ANOTHER FUCKING HUMAN BEING AS PROPERTY is okay.

FIRSTLY: It doesn't matter how well a slave is taken care of, THEY ARE STILL A SLAVE. I don't care if massah his own self personally gave each of his slaves warm milk, cookies and oral sex before tucking them into a big feather bed every night. It doesn't make up for the fact they were prisoners and could be torn away from their loved ones and sold for quick cash.

This is a point I have to go over and over and over again with my "Southern by the grace of God" asshole relatives.

What's wrong with what he said? He admitted there were slaves, he was just providing some additional historical context for people, which was quite kind of him to do. Also, Mr O"Reilly is apparently in favour of an open-borders immigration policy, which is surprising, but very good to hear!
