DC Comics released a reboot of the Flintstones last month, where all the rock puns and snarky birds have been replaced with dark humor about the crushing malaise of late-stage capitalism. The plot of the first issue involves Fred's boss dangling a promotion in front of his face and all the shit Fred goes through to get it, only to be denied it in the end.
Actual dialog follows:
Co-worker: Hey, Fred, can I ask you something? Why do you wear that tie?
Fred: Oh, well I read an article once that said, "dress for the job you want, not the job you have."
Co-worker: Oh. So how long have you been wearing it?
Fred: (staring off into the distance) Fifteen years.
I hope this means were're getting a sepiatone Zach Snyder Flintstones extended universe movie, with teaser cameos from the Dystopian Jetsons and Gritty Snagglepuss.
