John Holmes Motherfucker - 2016-08-01

Patton Oswalt has a six year old daughter who is crazy about MLP, and whose mother just died. I think he's a great dad and this is a wonderful gesture.

Chancho - 2016-08-01

Childless neckbeards should never influence your decisions.

Gmork - 2016-08-01

Six year olds are indeed the correct demographic.

Cena_mark - 2016-08-01

There's nothing wrong with being a childless adult who likes the show. Patton would enjoy the show even if he didn't have a daughter. The show is extremely well written and produced.

EvilHomer - 2016-08-01

Lol, Gmork, your sweaty manchild tears are delicious. Yum yum!

I would like to be the first to welcome Patton Oswalt into the New World Order (of Ponies). He has made the right choice. And might I add, the gentleman obviously has taste; he has picked the finest of Mane Six ponies to mark for.

John, his daughter was really into Lightning Dash, wasn't she? Could that be why?

bongoprophet - 2016-08-01

I can't believe how much I agree with Gmork lately.

Homer is slipping though...

EvilHomer - 2016-08-01

Sorry, was that too gloat-y of me? I don't really relish Gmork's distress; it's just that ever since the Steven Universe reveal, all childish insults and unprovoked attacks have been placed in their proper, delightfully-ironic contex. It's like being a D&D dork who gets picked on for years simply because of a hobby, only later to find out that the angriest, dumbest jock is really a closeted roleplayer himself - and even more amusingly, he RPs as some lame-ass gnome bard.

But that is not an excuse, and I apologise if my words hurt Gmork's feelings.

Chancho - 2016-08-01

This show is a consumer product designed for little girls.

If you are an adult man and are entertained by it, you are a mess.

Gmork - 2016-08-01

Tears? I don't understand. Is there something I should be upset about? Oh, I get it, you think because I find Patton Oswalt funny and he's involved with this show I'm somehow mad about it.

Huge swing and a miss, Homer. This is also the most petty I've seen you be in a while - my comment really must've hit a nerve.

M-DEEM - 2016-08-01

Just poppin' in to remind everyone that bronies are terrible! Show itself is probably fine

EvilHomer - 2016-08-01

Don't worry Gmork, Patton won't forget about you. He's got some new friends now, but you're still one, too.

Gmork - 2016-08-01

Cameo != recurring character

EvilHomer - 2016-08-01

... said John de Lancie to Weird Al.

Here, you should watch this episode, tell me what you think:

Gmork - 2016-08-01

No thanks. I'm not a six-year old girl or a balding manchild, so I'm not really the correct demographic.

EvilHomer - 2016-08-01

I'm gonna have to stop Dashie and Pants right there. A 'score' of arrows indicates a specific number; a 'barrage' of arrows does not. There is no need to invoke Daring Do's penchant for embellishment, as there is no conflict between the two accounts.

Furthermore, I have not read the actual book, so I cannot say for certain what other information may or may not be present within them, but from what information we HAVE been given regarding pages 84 and 107, it does not sound like we can textually-infer the precise number of arrow-holes to be placed in Daring Do's hat. 'Dodging' a score of arrows is not the same as being 'struck in the hat by' a score of arrows! The information relevant to drawing our conclusion - the precise number of arrows actually striking Daring Do - is missing from the text, and while I can sort-of-believe that this problem might not be appreciated by Rainbow Dash (and perhaps not by Quibble Pants, either - for all I know he could be characterized as a dumbass who is not very good at solving critical-reading problems), I find it stretches credulity (STRETCHES CREDULITY!) to assume that Dashie either *did not confer* with Twilight Sparkle on the hat-matter prior to prepping for the Convention, or that she and Twilight *did* confer, but Twilight made the same (frankly rather obvious) mistake in reasoning that both Pants and Dashie did.

I stand by my five star rating, but Jesus, people.

EvilHomer - 2016-08-01

And yes, CENA and GMORK and anyone else who's about to troll me, I am aware that Daring Do has been shown to block arrows with her hat. That there is precedence for at least some degree of blocking-while-dodging doesn't really matter, as the critical information is still how many arrows actually hit, and that information is still missing from the text.

EvilHomer - 2016-08-01

[Full disclosure: lest anyone think I am trying to act like I know more about Daring Do than either Rainbow Dash or Patton Oswalt does, I must confess that I wrote two whole paragraphs critiquing the holes in Pants and Dashie's cosplay hats, but had to scrap them once I double-checked my information... and realized that not only had I miscounted the number of SMALL holes in their hats (there are indeed twenty), but I had also completely forgotten that the three LARGE holes are a signature of Daring Do's costume, and were already there to begin with!

DUUUUURRRR

Rookie mistake, and quite embarrassing!

So much respect to Rainbow and Patton; it's just that in this particular regard, they are wrong.]

MurgatroidMendelbaum - 2016-08-01

May I suggest an official QT-Mk for you, Homer?

EvilHomer - 2016-08-01

But, but, I am not married to Twilight Sparkle, and even if I was, surely neither pony nor human naming-conventions would demand I take the name "Mr Sparkle"...?

Cena_mark - 2016-08-01

Why would I troll you? We're on the same side here, except for our usual bickering about your poor taste in favorite ponies.

EvilHomer - 2016-08-01

Because Rainbow Dash, obviously. Also Daring Do - she is a pegasus, and you seem to have something against Flight Pride!

At least Quibble Pants understands that pegasi are the best, and hides his Earth Pony shame with prosthetic wings.

Cena_mark - 2016-08-01

There's not shame, he's merely cosplaying. Earth ponies are the best.

EvilHomer - 2016-08-02

I think he's a trans-pegasus. Next season, there will be an episode about the controversy over which bathroom he should use.

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2016-08-01

No stars from me as usual for clips from this show. I remain perplexed by its appeal.

dairyqueenlatifah - 2016-08-01

I had no idea they had produced any new episodes of this show since that episode where Twilight Sparkle had a DBZ style brawl with that satanic red centaur monster.
