I thought my family was the only one who did this stupid shit.

We used to have a little mutt named Scuzzy. One of us would occasionally call for everyone's attention and say "Look at that dog. Look at her. Just look at her."

Scuzzy would react by wagging her tail and stretching out on her belly.

"Look at her. She thinks she's cute or something. Just look at her."

And then Scuzzy would start rubbing her front paws and wag her tail more.

"Would you just look at that dog."

Scuzzy would bury her face between her forelegs as she continued to rub her paws and wag her tail.

"Just look at this dog."

Finally, it would be too much for Scuzzy who would let out a little growl then jump up and run at the person pointing at her who would pick her up and give her a good petting as Scuzzy went crazy licking at their chin.

When she got older and less energetic, we could still say, "Look at that dog." and get a good reaction from her, no matter how lethargic she was.
