For those of us who don't follow soccer, can somebody summarize Ms Solo's career?

I don't follow soccer but she was super salty after losing to Sweden in the Olympics, calling them "cowards" and saying something like "the better team lost" even though, in the same game, she had apparently made up some dumb excuse to delay a shootout in the hopes of psyching out her opponent (which didn't work).

Her husband is an American football player whose wikipedia page has a comically large "Criminal allegations" section, including convictions for assault, multiple DUIs, hit and run (plus an allegation of rape that wasn't prosecuted). He was arrested for assaulting her the day before their wedding.

As for her soccer career, she's famous, so I guess she's probably pretty good.

Apparently a good goalie, but a colossal prick.

Also the suspension means nothing - she misses a bunch of games that have no bearing on Team USA's qualification for Olympic or World Cups in the future. Boring clickbait video anyway.

She's had several domestic violence cases, constantly putting her foot in her mouth. She is an all-time great when it comes to taking the most tasteless nude selfies humanly possible.

Hope Solo is your typical aggressive, drunk jock, with a shit attitude who got some comeuppance. US Soccer has wanted to fire her (or similarly relieve her from duty) for some time, but, you know, there was no one as good and as marketable. Here are a few things that lead to this point:

1. General unsportsmanlike conduct/disrespectful behavior at the Olympics, insulting the Swedish national team after US loss (this was a last straw kind of thing).

2. She got wasted with her football star husband and commandeered a US Soccer van, then got pulled over; the husband--driving--got a DUI, she got suspended

3. Domestic violence: She got drunk and beat up her nephew (apparently slamming his head into the ground repeatedly) and her half-sister.

4. PED Use for Canrenone

5. Appears on 'TODAY' drunk

6. Criticizes her coach on television 2007.

Also, I don't see ads; so apologies if there were tasteless ads associated with the video. I was unawares :(

They didn't suspend her, they cancelled her contract.

Oh, and apparently she was already on a lot of Brazilian shit lists for making a bunch of Zika jokes on Facebook or something.

I don't know, the way you guys are describing it, she sounds kinda awesome.


The Ultimate Warrior is a legend because of his trash-talking, coke-fueled antics; but one fantastically talented female soccer player goes and does half that shit, and suddenly the world is jock-shaming her.

Hopefully she'll team up with Brock Lesnar, and together the two of them can "take out" the Swedish trash.

If I know my Extended Universe characters, Hope Solo is a blue-haired Force prodigy with an on-again, off-again incestuous relationship with her brother, Kylo Ren. As a teenager she worked as a storm trooper and a super-spy for the Imperial Remanent, but after breaking free of a top-secret military lab, she has become an agent for the Rebellion - if they can keep her in line! Rey is super jealous of her, because Hope is prettier and stronger and smarter in every way, but for some reason all the stupid-jerk boys in Coruscant High paid attention to Rey, because she's trendy and slutty and not a strong, independent loner like Hope.

Also, Hope's lightsaber is a katana.
