Wasn't he killed by Kano?

I only ever played the first two or three games.

You ever wonder how many times Johnny Cage died? Of course, we all do.

EvilHomer - 2016-09-07

Non-canonically, he was killed by Kano, and by everyone else in the game, countless times, thanks to the Fatality feature!

Storywise, however, I don't believe either Cage (Prime Universe Cage or Alternate Universe Cage) ever got killed by Kano. You may be thinking of Sheeva, whom Kano stabbed to death during the third game.

OBITUARY

Jacob Schlomo Cageberg, better known by his stage name "Johnny Cage," died today at the age of 25, after losing a karate match against a yellow ninja. Upon being punched in the face the required number of times, Mr. Cage began to stand in place with a dazed expression on his face, while a voice of unknown origin shouted, "finish him." At this point, the ninja took off his mask and HOLY CRAP IT'S A SKELETON WHAT A SURPRISE A SKELETON RIGHT HERE ON KUNG FU ISLAND OR WHEREVER THIS TAKES PLACE, OH SHIT THE SKELETON BREATHES FIRE AND HE'S SETTING FIRE TO JOHNNY CAGE, JESUS, OH WOW, JOHNNY CAGE IS NOW A SKELETON HIMSELF, ONLY THE HE'S THE DEAD KIND OF SKELETON, HOW IRONIC.

Mr. Cage is survived by his pet ferret Deeznuts.

Since I know somebody is bound to ask - YES. The answer is yes. The man in this video IS Tabmok99. THE Tabmok99, webmaster of The Kombat Pavilion, one of the 'net's oldest remaining MK fansites and a living relic of the 90s internet scene.

Given the amount of dedication Tabmok has for his hobby, I suspect that his Johnny Cage jacket is authentic, too.

A surprising number of the links on his page are still active. It's like 2002 never ended!

EvilHomer - 2016-09-07

Yeah, the affiliates, links, and page itself are well worth a visist if you're interested in vintage, Geo-cities era internet.

The best part is, he's still maintaining the site more or less unchanged, and he's still making brand new content, like this series of videos.

I wish antiquarian hipsters would start building sites with frames again.
