Being a White Helmet rescue worker is one of the most dangerous jobs there is. Russian airstrikes have taken up a pattern where they will bomb a civilian target, such as a Hospital. 15 minutes later, after the White Helmets and others have arrived to help the wounded and dig for survivors, the plane comes back and hits the same spot again. This is known as "repeated" or "double-tap" airstrike.

i dont think anyone was under the illusion that the russians weren't pushing the envelope for calculated brutality in this conflict

Wolverines, you commie bastard. WOLVERINES!

This is, of course, a 'tactic' that America has been using with its Dronestrike campaign for years now. An unequivocally evil one.

Do you deny that, SolRo?

It's possible that Raggamuffin was simply addressing the specific area within Syria where said Russian bombing is happening (given that this is where the 'white helmets' operate), and they didn't think to address the more widespread use of the tactic elsewhere by other national powers.

Anaxagoras - 2016-09-14

Really? We've been doing double tap airstrike via drones as well? Do you have a link for that? It doesn't seem like our style of evil, but maybe we're branching out.

Bobonne - 2016-09-14

Uh, The United States has explicitly been doing doubeltap airstrikes for YEARS. It's been covered in dozens, if not hundreds, of stories, at least in the places that actually ever report on less than gleaming US actions.

I could be pasting links in here all day. It's not a hard topic to research, unless you're in some sort of ungodly thick google bubble, I'd think.

The US has been the #1 offender on this particular subject for a long time now. It's kind of a big problem, particularly if Russia feels it could point at the US and say 'Hey, they get away with it'.

2012-2013 was when this was juicy fresh news, but it's never stopped happening, just to be clear:

Whoops! How did that last one get in there?

Raggamuffin - 2016-09-14

I went back and forth considering whether I should mention only Russian airstrikes in my original comment or to speak more broadly. I chose to point out Russian attacks specifically because it makes the comment more directly relevant to the video, not to imply that it's a tactic only employed by Russians although I can see how it reads that way.

As for SolRo, you've convinced me to submit to the far superior Russians and swear my loyalty to the Fearless Vladimir Putin.
