I watched them. Battle nuns in part 8 was worth waiting for.

Old_Zircon - 2016-09-14

Ashida Kim opens up part 2, that's already worth it.

Two Jar Slave - 2016-09-15

Back when I was a ninja my master sensei and I would get stoned and watch Ashida Kim videos that he'd sent away for. Sometimes instead of practising!

Sexy Duck Cop - 2016-09-14

Needs a "Bullshido" tag.

Old_Zircon - 2016-09-14

Also "Qi" tag maybe

spikestoyiu - 2016-09-14

At least the first one's fake.

Honestly, you'd think you'd ask one of your students, when they volunteer to help out with a video demonstration, whether they're currently suffering from narcolepsy.

every time i mention martial arts in public i end up trapped in a conversation with one of these types of guys. so i don't mention it anymore.

That guy - 2016-09-14

fucking classic

Adjuvant - 2016-09-14

I like that in the second episode, the last clip is of a martial arts teacher on Steve Gadlin's Star Makers (https://youtu.be/_DpK7Oip9Xw?t=3m49s).

Remember that's the same show that brought us this all-time classic: http://www.poetv.com/video.php?vid=140847

A good friend of mine has been a life long karate devotee so I often hear about the "bullshido" crowd from him as he loves reading about it. His dojo and the classes he participates in are pretty much free of that kind of crap because they do not market themselves as some kind of ASS KICKING FUCK YOUR SHIT UP dojo but rather a place for people serious about karate, judo, and a few other disciplines. On occasion, though, they will get a student or someone attending one of their events who is basically some "Cobra Kai" shithead trying to stealth their away into sparring with life-long professionals under the assumption they will make a name for themselves by defeating them or some shit.

Sexy Duck Cop - 2016-09-15

Half of the fun in training martial arts is occassionally beating up people like that.

I once went to a Bullshido Throwdown (an otherwise typical Internet meetup, only with a couple hours of sparring before the hanging out), and actually fought an honest-to-god ninja, complete with tabbi (NINJA SOCKS), which I used to leglock him.

StanleyPain - 2016-09-15

It *is* fun he admits, but it's also a liability. Those type of people generally get hurt much easier than anyone else because they are combative rather than being there to learn.
