Had some of these guys, the ones that were gold and silver chrome. Yes, I wanted them as a kid and thought they were awesome.

Old_Zircon - 2016-09-14

I never got any of these but a friend had a couple, they were pretty good.

I had a lot of Sectaurs, though. They're probably still in my parents' basement but good luck replacing the wings.

Even got The Hive when it was marked down to $15 at a local overstock place but unfortunately I couldn't convince them to keep it when I left for college because it was pretty huge. I bet that thing is worth a fortune these days.

... yeah, looks like low 4 figres for a well maintained one.

Old_Zircon - 2016-09-14

Or maybe not, they're totally inconsistent, anywhere from $75 to around $1500.

"they were pretty good"

I had some of these (the non metallic (I'm assuming cheaper) ones). They were quite well made imo

Actually all the Gobots toys were very well made.

I had a lot of Gobots because money was tight and Transformers were hella expensive even back then.

I distinctly remember most of my transformers breaking but the Gobots holding up pretty well. Lots of metal parts.

Old_Zircon - 2016-09-14

Gobots were really solid but the fir of the parts wasn't always the best. I had two (a tank and a ferrari-or-something) and they had a tendency to loosen up fast. When they were in robot configuration they were OK but when you made them into cars they never quite stayed in shape.

I still have the one at 0:12 sitting in one of my drawers, completely intact; he's actually endured two childhoods' worth of abuse as of now, since my nephew found him and started playing with him too. Damned if I could tell you his name, probably Bouldarr or something horribly clever like that; I'd utterly forgotten these guys were a thing.

And yeah, most of my transformers also broke in some way or another; usually the hands would crack apart where the guns used to fit. Funny how the knockoffs lasted longer than the originals.

How to get rocks into the toy market.

Cena_mark - 2016-09-14

Steven Universe fans have been wanting action figures. All we've gotten thus far are Funko Pop figures and various blind bag figures. Many fans have resorted to collecting the actual gems.

0:17-0:22 must lead to some sort of ancient-Greek style paradox, right?
