It's really character-driven, I think is the thing, so none of the humor really works until you know the characters well. I don't often find it laugh-out-loud funny, but when I do, it's amazingly and charmingly so.

It's probably my favorite show based solely on how seriously they treat their ridiculous characters and how naturally they've let them develop.
