I don't have time to listen to another podcast god damn it.

I thought this was a few years old. I haven't listened to it but I've been enjoying finally really going through the MBMBAM back catalog a lot this year.

Yeah, I started a new job that's an hour drive away, so I got going on MBMBAM to give my brain something to do while I sit on the highway. Adventure Zone's basically completely replaced it at this point, since it's one giant narrative.

This is really good! I've listened to a bunch of Phandelver playthroughs, and this group is easily the best. They're clearly cheating like crazy, many of the topical/ celebrity references fall flat, and Taako is a little racist, but the group has a load of chemistry and the roleplaying is top-notch. I was particularly impressed with the way the party was willing to sabotage themselves for the sake of characterization and story, like for example in the ochre jelly cavern.

Alright, fine, uncle. You win, internet. I'll give My Brother My Brother and Me and their satellite projects a listen.

The best episode is the Flop House crossover, where consistent underachiever Stuart Wellington reveals he is a deeply intense and serious DM.

I found this really, really boring. Irony rpging is really boring, short of the funniest people in the world doing it.

Kabbage - 2016-10-11

Seem like they play it pretty close to how it's supposed to be played. Stories are good so far. Right now they're doing a Fury Road-style scenario with a desert race that's been coming along very nicely: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OqoJkJOoC1A

EvilHomer - 2016-10-11

Yeah, it's a little silly at times, but (obvious cheating aside) they seem to play it pretty straight. They also pay a great deal of attention to roleplaying and character-development, which is not usually something you see with streamed D&D sessions (the oldschool lack of grid-based play may have something to do with this)

I recommend sticking it out for at least two or three episodes, but it may not be your cup of tea.
