This is funny, but damn that's a lot of unused footage. Probably they should have just had her write the script.

Lef - 2016-10-21

I thought this was how the entire movie was filmed... the script was just a guideline and the cast pretty much improved everything.

Maggot Brain - 2016-10-21

Did this movie even have a script?

Gmork - 2016-10-21

I'm surprised the "I hate everything" generic bad guy wasn't also an MRA.

StanleyPain - 2016-10-21

Ad libbing and improv kinda only works when you have genuinely clever people to work with.
Being awkward isn't improv. But hey, whatevs. works for the Happy Gilmore crew.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2016-10-21

The improv isn't always funny, but it's always fun to watch. The original is funnier,. but the characters are structured according to tired eighties comedy tropes. Venkman, the obligatory HERO WHO PLAYS BY HIS OWN RULES (see Fletch, Animal House, Beverly Hills Cop, WHERE THE BUFFALO ROAM etc etc etc) is the central figure. The two nerdy white guys mostly handle exposition, and then there's the black guy. I don't know what he's there for, but he's got my favorite line in the movie ("I LOVE THIS TOWN")

The new one isn't as funny, but the characters are more natural, and the action is much better. And somehow, the new new one opened me up to the old one. I have them both on Google play, and I watch them all the time. Google play is awesome.

I think being a Ghostbuster taught Kate McKinnon about resilience and resourcefulness, and those experiences will serve her in good stead when she becomes President next year (of SNL).

Is her skin really orange enough?

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2016-10-22

Yes.

EvilHomer - 2016-10-21

I Would, and I'll fake the laughter if it helps my chances, but honestly? Most of these aren't very funny.

kingarthur - 2016-10-21

Kate McKinnon is hilarious.

Prickly Pete - 2016-10-22

Cast was excellent, says people who have only ever heard of 4 female comedians. They should've farmed some of the staple Earwolf players. Lauren Lapkus as a Ghostbuster would've been game over.

The breakout was Chris Hemsworth, and my opinion caused controversy among the MNR dudes. I thought it was great having such a charismatic hunk of eye candy playing the Rick Moranis role. It was an odd casting decision and it worked.

But really, the cameos from the old cast posed way better questions than the movie was willing to answer. Venkman had changed his name and become a debunker, AWESOME, why? What was his goal in confronting the new Ghostbusters? If he WASN'T Venkman, why was he even there? How did Ray wind up as a taxi driver, and, again, if it wasn't Ray, how did he know what a Rank 5 Apparition is? And why is Winston now a funeral director? These alternate terminals for these characters are far, far more interesting than the main plot. A better script would've woven them in and brought it to a cohesive whole, and launched an interesting direction for the franchise.

But anyway, Evolution was the real Ghostbusters 3.

Old_Zircon - 2016-10-22

The Frighteners was the real Ghostbusters 3.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2016-10-22

They actually made a Ghostbusters 3, with the original leads reprising their roles in their late sixties, and it was so bad the fanboys of the future sent a terminator robot to 2014 to kill Harold Ramis. Unfortunately, their plan backfired with classic ironic consequences, and the secret SJW /Lesbian/Muslim alliance remade Ghostbusters with women in the major roles. leading to a dystopian feminist future . The women of the Revolutionary Matriarchal Council (AKA "Big Mother") force everyone to watch the Ghostbusters reboot every year on Sarkeesian Day, formerly Christmas.

The only guy who knew how to make terminator droids was accidentally killed in a tragic accident with a malfunctioning sex robot, so the fanboys of the future are well and truly fucked.

Prickly Pete - 2016-10-23

The Ghostbusters video game is the real Ghostbusters 3. And a good one too. They go to Hell for fuck's sake.
