Old_Zircon - 2016-11-24 Yeah, Hugh Grant tag was a mistake, I haven't actually watched this in like 7 years and forgot it wasn't him in this scene.
Fixed.

Old_Zircon - 2016-11-24 Or is Capaldi the cop? I get my English actors confused.

I worked for about a year at NYU's art history department and had a few conversations about LAIR OF THE WHITE WORM with Robert Rosenblum (RIP), author of the 19-century painting textbook I used in undergrad. He absolutely loved it, mentioned it to me first to drum up a conversation, and that was one of the most pleasant surprises of my 20s.

This movie was so much fucking fun.
|
Old_Zircon - 2016-11-24 Yeah, it's got the goofiness of Liszt-O-Mania, the visual stylishness of Gothic, the shock value of The Devils, and the narrative quality that comes from being an adaptation of Bram Stoker. I love most Ken Russel movies but this is the most fun.
|
Old_Zircon - 2016-11-25 For the record, Liszt-O-Mania is my second favorite Ken Russell movie but it definitely doesn't qualify for Best Movies Week.

Good, I always hated this Constable Reggie.
