Initially logged into SL because Kurt Vonnegut was giving a talk on the platform. Made a little pocket change debugging other people's coding. Actually met my wife there, as we were both freelancing for people trying to run an actual business in SL.
Once we moved to the same state and the business we were working with folded, really didn't have any motivation to log in anymore.
With that said , yeah there's still some neat stuff out there. But mostly it's a bucket full of weird-sex-imagined-by-people-who-have-no-sex, insular gated communities, and vast empty tracts of random structures with no sense of life.
