wtf japan tag?

Cena_mark - 2017-01-13

Japan? More like WTF China.

The Mothership - 2017-01-13

Oh, you're right. Never mind.

Potrod - 2017-01-13

Stephen Chow or not, if anything ever called for the "Bad CGI" tag this is it.

Cena_mark - 2017-01-13

It's forgivable. International films typically don't have the budgets for perfect CGI.

Old_Zircon - 2017-01-14

I know nobody's going to agree with me, but I feel like even more than average, Steven Chow's movies have really been hurt by CGI, and they've been declining since The God of Cookery (I need to catch up on the last couple though. CGI heavy slapstick just really doesn't play well in my book. Even as far back as Shaolin Soccer (which was the first one of his movies that felt like a real step down to me, although it was still fun), the CGI just broke up the flow of the performances and was never particularly funny, even though it was kind of the centerpiece of the movie.

If I had to choose his best it would probably be God of Gamblers, but my personal favorite is still A Chinese Odyssey Part 1.

god I love humanity.

I now need to see this and Bad Black still.

And then I need to see those in a cinematic crossover.

Caminante Nocturno - 2017-01-13

I wonder if that octopus man has a beaked butt.

memedumpster - 2017-01-13

Remember when Stephen Chow movies were funny and not cruel and horrific?

Old_Zircon - 2017-01-14

They were always cruel and horrific, to be fair.

memedumpster - 2017-01-14

Kung Fu Hustle is a sweet and touching movie about poverty, gangs, and violence, dammit.

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2017-01-14

Man, she must be absolutely DELICIOUS.

Caminante Nocturno - 2017-01-14

It's like pork and tuna in one meal.
