Caminante Nocturno - 2017-01-21

This is the only scene I remember from this movie, just for the last four seconds

Bobonne - 2017-01-21

I saw this in the theatre when it first came out and I was a preteen, and I can't remember a single thing about it, including this entire scene.

Except for the full-retard war scene on Highlanderia VIII and whatsernames comparing how many bullets had hit them after they break into the evil fortress near the end.

Old_Zircon - 2017-01-21

I have deliberately and studiously avoided all Highlander stuff other than the first movie and the pilot of the TV series (which is pretty hilarious).

I need to watch this soon.

Old_Zircon - 2017-01-21

Forgot the stars.

Also forgot Ironside was in this, how have I not seen it yet?

memedumpster - 2017-01-21

You have to watch this movie twice.

The original cut, which is amazing, and the director's cut, which is less amazing, but you must watch them both.

StanleyPain - 2017-01-21

I dunno, I thought the "Renegade" cut was pretty lame. I mean, as dumb as the vanilla move is, the other version feels like a desperate attempt to fix it somehow than a legit improvement in any way.

kingofthenothing - 2017-01-21

You haven't seen the TV series? The whole thing's on Youtube, for free, legally.

and if you have a Roku or whatever you can watch Youtube on TV, also for free.

Man, there were a lot of really good episodes on the show. You're missing out. The first season is low budgetish and kind of cheesy but the second season and onwards it gets really kind of good.

You can't have a premise like Highlander anymore, though. The whole thing falls apart in a world where cameras and smart phones are everywhere.

Ludicrous Speed

Done.

Old_Zircon - 2017-01-21

Nice. This is definitely Spaceballs physics.

Old_Zircon - 2017-01-21

Actually, I wonder if "Ludicrous Speed GO" would be an even better tag.

Binro the Heretic - 2017-01-21

The most disappointing sequel since "A Return to Salem's Lot."

kingofthenothing - 2017-01-22

Sophie's Choice 2

StanleyPain - 2017-01-21

I remember digging this movie when it was new just because I liked the visuals and how Mulchahy directed it. In retrospect, it still looks cool (old fashioned cinematography as opposed to all the digital grading and other lazy-ass bullshit that's in every movie today) and some neat design choices, but is of course just as incomprehensibly weird as it was back then. It's hard to even say it's a bad movie, because it's legitimately entertaining in this weird way, but how this came out of being a sequel to Highlander is truly bewildering.

betamaxed - 2017-01-21

This movie is the way it is due to the Argentine financial crisis. It's also an amazing piece of trash that is a joy to watch from start to finish.

kingofthenothing - 2017-01-21

Man, this movie was great, I don't know what you guys are talking about. They had the shoes that made you fly, there was Dr. Cox from Scrubs getting his nuts mangled, and there were some really great villain quotes.

Binro the Heretic - 2017-01-22

I'm sure I would have enjoyed it if it had been it's own movie and not an alleged sequel to "The Highlander."

I wonder if it started life as a completely unconnected movie, but the studio decided to make it a sequel to increase box office draw. That apparently happens a lot.

kingofthenothing - 2017-01-22

I saw the commentary on it and it looked like the main problem came down to budget concerns. The place they were filming started out cheap and then there were some economic instabilities in whatever 3rd world country it was an inflation was going up, and they had to keep reworking the script according to what they could fit into the budget. What you end up with is something that doesn't make a lot of sense.

blue vein steel - 2017-01-22

Few can devour scenery like ol Ironsides

Stopheles - 2017-01-23

I saw this in the theater with a friend of mine with unmedicated ADHD who had seen the first movie and needed me (who had NOT seen the first movie) to explain what was going on the whole time.

chumbucket - 2017-01-24

Has Ironside been in anything good?

blue vein steel - 2017-01-24

Scanners

Caminante Nocturno - 2017-01-30

Starship Troopers.

Bort - 2017-01-30

Huh, apparently he was in "V" as a character named "Ham Tyler". Oh wait, I remember him now:

... is it just me, or does Marc Singer sound inordinately sassy?

"Ham Tyler". Wish I'd known about this during Ham Week.
