Yeah I always liked Data East/Sega pins because they award death saves and other controversial/illegal moves, and were built to withstand the damage that would be taken on Bally or Williams machines at the time. But I'm sure that damage was made up by these crazy attempts at creating the biggest multiball; I think Judge Dredd still has the most in play with its Superball option, but then again I woudn't know because it's nearly impossible to to find a Data East pin that doesn't have constant health problems.
Data East did a lot of stupid shit design wise. Sega really carried the torch in that regard when they took over. That's probably why it's harder to find their tables in good working order.
I did find a perfect (or near perfect) Guns and Roses pin by my girlfriend's house though, but it's part of a pinball/barcade so it makes sense that those are better maintained than some random Who's Tommy at some divey punk joint. It's a blessing and a curse though because I'm constantly making up excuses for being late to her place; she should know where I am.. :)
