"They cannot control me!!!"
"They didnt save your life they STOLE IT!!!"

Woah so much schlock, feels like a blizzard game cutscene

badideasinaction - 2017-02-14

"We focus-tested the original movie on 8 year olds and they liked the fight scenes but some of them weren't sure what was going on"
"Add more expository dialogue!"

SolRo - 2017-02-14

I think your statement indirectly gives too much credit to americans (and lets be honest, chinese) over the age of 8.

Ninehells - 2017-02-16

Yeah, once I stopped eating playdoh, it was all down hill from there.

Hooker - 2017-02-14

I love that people are complaining that this movie isn't exactly like the movie that already exists.

Why aren't any of them cartoons!?!?

Xenocide - 2017-02-14

Yeah, okay, but not every successful cartoon needs to be remade in live action just because Hollywood has figured out green screens now. Especially if the best thing you can think to do with that technology is put Scarjo in a naked barbie doll suit.

Hooker - 2017-02-14

They're ruining Ghostbusters!

Xenocide - 2017-02-15

Yeah, um, I'm very upset about how they made they made all the Ghosts in the Shells women this time, I guess.

The hell you talking about.

betamaxed - 2017-02-14

CGI bullet impacts on concrete instead of using real squibs. PASS.

What's the advantage of a live action version if it's just going to be animated anyway?

StanleyPain - 2017-02-14

I watched this and fantasized, internally, that I was watching a trailer for Neuromancer or Count Zero or something, and for a brief moment it was great. Visually it's really on that level.

Everything else seems fucking horrible. Also, ScarJo running around in that dumb looking "nude suit" thing reminds me of Slim Goodbody or something.

So, this is basically going to be like Aeon Flux where they take a unique and distinct piece of art and turn it into Hollywood garbage.

Nikon - 2017-02-14

I hear you. I'd like to see a great cyberpunk movie but I doubt this is going to be that film.

Caminante Nocturno - 2017-02-14

The Aeon Flux movie was the first thing this reminded me of, and that's probably one of the worst things a trailer like this can do.

chumbucket - 2017-02-14

Stars for the Slim Goodbody reference.

Gmork - 2017-02-14

At least the Aeon Flux movie had the Mile High Jellyfish.

Caminante Nocturno - 2017-02-14

It doesn't look like the Tachikomas are in this, which is a relief, because god knows how they would have screwed that up.

fedex - 2017-02-14

really? worse than this?

Gmork - 2017-02-14

Tachikomas are fucking stupid. Except in that one playstation game where you play as one.

SolRo - 2017-02-14

"THEY USED ORPHAN CHILDREN TO MAKE THEM!!!"

/emo-pe

Xenocide - 2017-02-14

That game is awesome. When you fail a training mission you get a cutscene of the Tachikomas celebrating. They're happy because "we're covered with injuries and racking up experience!" Then the major tells them to shut up as they begin demanding promotions.

tethercat - 2017-02-15

Fuchikomas.

Maaaan, Batou sounds so much lighter in the Japanese original than his low-octave counterpart accross the pond.

tethercat - 2017-02-15

...I meant Macross.

Hugo Gorilla - 2017-02-14

I hate this is beating Battle Angel Alita to the theater. I like there's a live action adaptation of a Masamune Shirow title. I hate that it isn't Dominion. I like looking at Scarlett Johannsson. I hate Hollywood.

Kid Fenris - 2017-02-16

I wish they'd just adapt Shirow's never-made pitch for an American Ghost in the Shell. It was called Neuro Heat and starred a renegade cyborg code named Annette Oakley.
