It's interesting seeing the Gulf War inspired night vision scene, and how that imagery had infused early 90s culture.

Don't forget the sequel to this, Dune II, a game that basically invented the top-down RTS genre.

To be fair, Herzog Zwei is generally considered the progenitor of RTS games. Dune II borrowed a lot, spiritually, to be what it was.

I was actually playing this like two weeks ago. Still the best RTS in my opinion, running guys over with my harvester always brings a smile to my face.
