I was hiking in Snowdonia with a yank + mostly other Irish people and he was saying that in the US they *never* swear and usually address people by their 2nd name / honorific. We obviously found that fairly ridiculous.
I think he must have been from one of ye're social castes where that is the case.
Good call! It's hard to the the difference between the Baltimore accent and a more general north east accent. the give away is that a Baltimore accent doesn't palatalize the 's' sound most of the time.
