This is like when the quarterback of the High School football team gets cast in the play.
Saw this in the theater, audience was laughing so hard at these scenes, I felt bad for the little fella.

infinite zest - 2017-04-08 Yeah I like Keanu. Never seen this movie but there's a cutaway joke on The Critic that's pretty much this, actually a little understated given the source. It's not his fault really, much like Kyle McLaughlin and David Lynch, Reeves and Gus Van Sant had something really special together. But this made neither nor McLaughlin art-house actors, unless you count Showgirls, which you probably should.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2017-04-08
Michael Keaton was another story altogether.
To be fair, when the villain announces that he's the villain, he's probably more of a plot device than a character.
Is it possible that he's not that bad? When Jack Lemmon appeared in Branagh's Hamlet, his plain American accent sounded weird at first, and some reviewers panned him, but after several viewings, I came to appreciate his performance. And 10th century Danes speaking English with an American accent is exactly as unlikely as 10th century Danes speaking English with a modern English accent, or an Elizabethan accent, for that matter.
On the other hand, Denzel Washington is great in this. So while it's possible that Keanu Reeves may not be THAT bad, he's definitely bad. Alan Rickman would have been better.
Again, Michael Keaton was wonderful.

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2017-04-09 I really thought Emma Thompson and Kenneth Branaugh did an amazing job bringing their characters to life.

Every other person in this movie was amazing. And Keanu was in there, for some reason. It was really weird. It was like having Gilbert Gottfried show up in Gladiator.
