Haven't seen this one yet but I recently watched A Serious Man which also dealt heavily with quantum physics and its relationship with Judaism. Not the best movie but the atmosphere really reminded me of a less-twee version of Anderson's Moonrise Kingsom.I've been procrastinating this fucker for more than 10 years or however long it's been out and that'll change hopefully really soon.

Scarlett Johannssoonn aside, the entire cast is solid character actors. They disappear into their roles and this movie gets nuts.

I think this movie & A Serious Man are just wonderful.

The plot with the piano teacher (& Scarlett what's her face) does seem out of place though. Maybe if I see it again sometime I'll see it differently. There are scenes in Fargo that don't seem to fit when you first watch it.

It's sort of the cinematic equivalent of a Paul McCartney song. Lots of parts of various scripts they couldn't wedge into a whole movie so they smooshed them together like "Admiral Halsey".
