His stuff seems cool enough, but I've got to say that installation pieces in a major LA gallery by an internationally recognized artist is about as far from "outsider" as it gets. Hell, a few years ago someone literally gave him a four story car park in Hong Kong for free.
Beyond the fact that it would probably be a fun sensory experience to walk through this exhibit I don't see what it's actually bringing to the table that wasn't done to death in the 80s and 90s.
But then I've been close to major art schools for my entire adult life so I'm EXTREMELY cynical about the contemporary art industry (and it is very much an industry).
But I guess it's true what they say, art is 5% inspiration, 95% developing your core brand proposition.
