I'm amused that nobody feels any need to debate the matter.

"Voyager" should have been a lot more like "Farscape": a crew that didn't really fit, and often had trouble understanding that they need to have each other's backs just to survive, with the newcomer / outsider as the one best suited to bring everyone together because he had no axes to grind. My god that would make Neelix the John Crichton character.

The answer is hell fuck no. As a captain, she's responsible for the safety and well-being of her crew, and getting them back to the Alpha Quadrant as quickly as possible. Remember when they found the Ferengi-worshipping cult on one of the alien worlds?

Next to the planet was a wormhole, which was a completely safe, totally stable ticket back to the Alpha Quadrant. But instead of taking that easy ticket home immediately, they fuck around on the planet to stop the Ferengi, who aren't even Federation citizens! Then the Ferengi leave and collapse the wormhole behind them.
