I dunno...I miss the twangy guitar plucks.

I really liked this a lot. ST: TMP is my favorite Star Trek picture and this allowed me to experience it again in a new way.

It's probably my second or third favorite, but agreed that this was neat.

Kinda makes me long for a recut full version.

Its easily the best feature IMO. If all the sequels took their cues from this (brainy sci-fi) they wouldn't have become farces.

Lurchi - 2017-05-17

no

Two Jar Slave - 2017-05-17

Yes!

More stars to offset Lurchi who isn't a fun guy and smells bad.

Hmm.. The star trek movie was pretty good. It seems kinda wrong to boil it down to 20 minutes of the most spectacular scenes out of context.
Also it already had excellent music / audio, maybe the best thing about it?

Also tron had excellent music / audio, probably the best part of that film.
Still, I did enjoy that.

I just re-watched 'star trek: the motion picture'

I reckon its the best star trek movie. They pretty much took the plot from a decent tos episode and inflated it up to film length by adding amazing expensive 'model' sequences with fantastic music.
Its also played fairly seriously, for example, Kirk isnt constantly mugging' to the camera + making quips.

The main theme of 'logic vs being an illogical dummy' isnt mindblowing, but its acceptable and makes sense as they can explore it with the two main characters of spock and kirk.

Tron Legacy is one of my favorite movies. The design was just great, I liked this.

Mr. Purple Cat Esq. - 2017-05-18

Yeah I actually love that film too. I'm not a big fan of drama / character driven / messy humans, so 90 mins of really cool landscapes / stuff, accompanied by excellent music is fine by me.

Oh yeah, Disney also made a cartoon called 'Tron: Uprising' after that film. It was great! But got cancelled quickly.

Nikon - 2017-05-18

I loved Tron Legacy and its magnificent score. A shame it and Uprising weren't big hits, as they should have been.

garcet71283 - 2017-05-18

Saw it in the IMAX at the Seattle Center. One of the best movie going experiences I've ever had.

gmol - 2017-05-18

I bought all of uprising too....the design was even better than the film. I could tell there was a real sense of loss when it was cancelled. Joseph Trapanese is obviously the magic behind the Tron musical scores.

Two Jar Slave - 2017-05-19

Y'all probably know this, but there's an excellent remix album of the soundtrack called Tron Reconfigured. If any of you are runners, you will find some great tracks to add to your mix.

Nikon - 2017-05-19

I have that. I also have the score to Tron Evolution which has some great tracks.

Nikon - 2017-05-31

I also found the MetroTokyo edition of the score, which has more tracks from the movie and has some of them without the voiceover narration that I do not want included in movie score albums (I buy them so I can listen to the music from the movie!)
