Lowest approval ratings this early in a presidency since 1953. Barring some kind of crisis that I don't want to think about, those numbers are never going to improve, because Trump has energized his base of angry paranoid supporters by alienating everyone else. He's got nowhere to go. If he manages to reach out to the majority, he'll lose more support than he'll gain.

Sometime last week, popular support for Trumpcare dropped below the percentage of Americans who have seen a ghost (which is 17% r 18%, I forget which).

Instead of wearing nice designer ties, do you think he wears Trump branded ties? Part of me thinks that he is so concerned with appearing wealthy and important that he wouldn't be seen wearing anything but the finest silk Armani or whatever. But another part of me believes he wouldn't dare pass up an opportunity to push brand on the international stage. It's a damn paradox.

Trump branded things are for car salesmen in Dubuque who really want to own their own lot some day.

I once visited the Trump International Hotel and Tower in Toronto. It was the 2012 Shaw Media television upfront and the building is yuge. The company who owned the building Trump slapped his name onto sold far fewer units than it expected, the building had structural concerns with its spire and the building's currently owned by its primary debt holder, but the building is yuge.
