Apparently what this generation of GOP leaders learned from Watergate was Nixon was right to do what he did and that they were wrong to abandon him, even though today he'd be a centrist to even radical Democrat~I don't need no EPA-man telling me that the air in Red China is bad to breath!
Funny thing about the EPA, our air, and crime. There is a compelling case that our high urban crime rates in the 80s and early 90s had everything to do with kids hotboxing leaded car exhaust in the 60s and 70s:
Crime rates were on the rise for the longest time in the cities, leading to the 1994 Crime Bill that there was so much indignant posturing about in this past primary season. Then urban violent crime rates dropped off and have stayed low -- down to about the same levels as the suburbs and country -- and nobody really knew why. But it may well be that the EPA solved the problem just by making our air cleaner.
So next time Trump is bitching about our non-existent urban crime epidemic and also trying to gut the EPA ... yeah.
