I always hated this show. But it did have a nice soundtrack.

I never liked the soundtrack, but it did have nice audio compression

Guard! Put this man in cell number 2 and give him a drink.

I don't like anime, but this show was steezy as hell.

Also co-sign Binro's sentiment below: please maintain the fever dream quality.

I hope they don't try to inject plot into it. The fever dream quality of the original was the best pert.

When I first saw FLCL, at the tender age of 16 and staying up late to watch Adult Swim during the summer, I wished badly that it hadn't ended after only a handful of episodes. Years later, looking back, I came to the conclusion that it was better that way.

It was a confusing blur of sound and color that hit me at just the right time and lasted exactly as long as it needed to. It's meaning and symbolism were magnified by my mind in the same way everything is at that age and if I tried to watch it now I would probably describe it as "clever" or "interesting" but not much else.

I'd like to think I'd be able to introduce it to my own kids one day, but I'm not sure if it would have the same impact on them as if they'd stumbled across it themselves in their early-mid teen years at 2am one warm July night. Exercising as much freedom as they could with school out for the summer and fighting sleep deprivation with the few, final, cans of Surge purchased at the corner store of a banal little suburb.

When out of the blue the television vomits THIS into their lap over the course of a week before ending just as suddenly as it began and without any explanation, leaving them shouting "Come back!" like the child at the end of the movie 'Shane'.

I'm just really wary of adding new 'seasons' to this show. It feels like hanging out at your old high school years after graduation.

oh hey cool someone decided not to leave well enough alone.

I loved the original, but I'd rather they just left it alone. The show gave all the endings it needed and was frankly on the verge of wearing out its welcome in the last episode already. Pending stellar reviews of this I'll just pretend this never happened.
