He wrote all the original rhymes for this movie (which I didn't actually know until today, I thought he just had a cameo) so I imagine this probably made him and his crew (who played his crew in his scene) a nice little bit of cash on top of the dubious exposure.
As this is a Cannon movie and Ice-T is apparently playing the same role as he had in the Breakin' movies I don't think it's a stretch to consider both breakin' movies and this movie as part of the same cinematic universe.
