The last session of SMC was actually pretty good. The animation have improved a ton since the first two sessions and Sailor Moon S is kind of the only session when there is momentum in the progression of the story through out the entire session. That said I miss the fact that all the villains in Sailor Moon S basically work an office job and use their evil magic powers to swipe their co-workers lunches.

Sailor Moon was ahead of its time. It was busy doing Advanced Level 9 Gendersmashing while everything else on TV was stuck at level 0 (that's the level where "Urkel wearing a dress" is considered strong enough comedy to be the plot of a two-part episode.)

I never watched or read enough to get there, but the Sailor Stars (featured in this video) basically flip between genders all the time. IIRC they aren't even one true gender that body swaps a-la-Ranma-1/2, they are like trans-gender in the sense of transcending gender...or something.

The "Gentle Uterus" attack she had was pretty much the bow on top of all of it.
