Maynard is the ultimate Disney ham. I've met him a few times. He's the sort of guy who would be obnoxious if actually asked to perform as himself but as a bonkers Disney Tiki Room host he's charming. One of my earliest interactions with Maynard was some point in the late 90s, and I said some snarky teenage comment about the Jungle Boat Cruise and he demanded to shake my hand because I was the first person to ever point out how cheesy everything was, as sarcastically as possible. Ever since then, Maynard is ALWAYS somewhere in Disneyland. I think he staffed the Magic Shop the last time I saw him.
