The abandoned houses thing always ends up such a downer. Especially when in 99% the cases you damned well know what happened. Calendars stopped smack dab in the middle of 2008. And the explorers always ask the same thing:

"Why did they leave all their stuff?!"

Well, since I work for a bank let me enlighten you! When a foreclosure is enforced all your shit in that house becomes not your shit. You think the nice men let you take all your things? You are normally given a little time to gather whatever sentimental things and then that property is sealed off from you forever. Since the things are in a place that is not yours, they are no longer yours. Your exercise bike, your clothes (that you couldn't stuff in a duffel bag that is.) Gone. And sometimes they are even bigger dicks getting the police involved and not even giving you time at all. Out you go with nothing but clothes on your backs.
