It's in Alabama. The assumption is that 3/4 of the state would still vote for time traveling Hitler if he ran as a republican.

I think there's always going to be about 30% that will vote R no matter what, just as there's always going to be about 30% that will vote D. But that leaves 18.4% ... and that number is just way too many.

There is danger in complacency; besides fighting the dirty tricks and gerrymandering the democrats are really going to have to work their asses off to get the voters out just to offset the stupids and hatefuls.

And the stupids and hatefuls will vote and vote and vote and vote. Until they get their way. And then the country goes to shit again.

Don’t think for a goddamn second that Ryan and McConnell don’t know that without active voter suppression, it would’ve been an 8-10% victory. There’s a Professor Marvel type behind the curtain that gets it. Bannon might be a million miles down his own ass, but the adults know the score.

When the GOP nominates racist sex criminals for high office, it's not a fluke. It's because they're terrible. A lot of republican voters are decent honorable people in their private lives, but they vote with they're lizard brains. And so they to elect lizards. It's their weakness.

I read this thing recently where it was suggested that the human will to violence is a constant, and the only reason it looks like we're getting more peaceful is that it is logistically impossible to keep war parties the same percentage of capita as national population size increases. They suggested we haven't become one iota more peaceful since 2500BC, we just need less soldiers to keep our empires oily with blood.

Well, if the goal is a world without assholes, you may be aiming a little too high.
