MTV Scare week?

Nikon - 2017-12-17

It was a simpler time.

Baldr - 2017-12-17

I just realized that Chris Matthews has been shout-talking on television for three decades. I wonder if he has tinnitus from listening to himself for so long.

memedumpster - 2017-12-17

Whoa, back before the Bush Doctrine was the liberal social platform.

Behold a culture only defined by Neocons on one side instead of both. Now, the Left would have had Mike Judge lynched.

Monkey Napoleon - 2017-12-17

Dude, the things We consider morally questionable are memetic poison that will taint the opinions of anyone exposed to them. We have to protect people from hearing and seeing things because they're obviously not as smart as We are to be able to sort things out for themselves. They need our help.

Who cares if Beavis and Butthead promulgates in the shadows without any opportunity to be publicly debated or it's proponents to be easily identified as it burns a gruesome scar across the psyche of this country for centuries?

As long as We're not offended, it should be fine, right?

discodracula - 2017-12-18

At the end, Chris Matthews is advocating suing MTV so they waste money on the lawsuit and hopefully take it off the air. The Democrats have always been as censorship happy as the Republicans, they just have different reasons. It was Democrats leading the hearings on rock music in the 80s and video games in the 90s and 00s.
If there's anything the parties can agree on, its fear mongering about whatever the kids are into for votes.

truly we can trace the decline of western civilization to the moment when bart calls his father by his first name instead of an accepted honorific

Seven Arts/H8 Red - 2017-12-17

Criticize Beavis & Butthead, McLaughlin. Don't dwell on the fact that you and Mike Judge have, at one time, been featured on Saturday Night Live - not at the same time, mind you, but you can't yell "WRONG!" at that part of your legacy.

infinite zest - 2017-12-18

I'm pretty sure I remember B&B doing McLaughlin's "WRONG" back and forth during one of the video segments, but who knows which one or if it's lost to Viacom's legal snares..

yogarfield - 2017-12-18

huhhuh huh huh.. this dude has jowls... huhuh huh...

Marlon Brawndo - 2017-12-18

Am I the only one that wants to see MORTON KONDRAKE and FRED BARNES in a wacky road trip movie where they break down at a trailer park?

infinite zest - 2017-12-18

It's A Wrong Wrong Wrong Wrong World

TeenerTot - 2017-12-18

Well, I plop my kid down in front of the vidya tube to keep him outta the way, and I seen him watchin that Beavis and Butthead, and I seen him playin with matches and such, and I seen him burn down our house. I'm the victim of MTV!

discodracula - 2017-12-18

The best part about this story? The family didn't have cable and the kid in question had never seen Beavis and Butthead.

TeenerTot - 2017-12-20

D'oh!

chumbucket - 2017-12-18

John McLaughlin just saying "Beavis and Butthead" earns all possible stars.

Old_Zircon - 2017-12-18

I knew some 20-something stoners about 5 years ago who genuinely believed this stuff. I mean, believed it now in the present decade.

Old_Zircon - 2017-12-18

Also they leaned strongly Libertarian, although I doubt any of them would have willingly accepted any party label because "it's all a big con, maaaan."

Enjoy - 2017-12-18

Chris Matthews comes off as a horrible dickwad. Sue MTV over this? Really?

Marlon Brawndo - 2017-12-18

Won't somebody PLEASE think of the CHILDREN???

Caminante Nocturno - 2018-12-19

This just made us want to watch it more.
