I was trapped in a convenience store purgatory following the 2008 crash. Single cigarette dealing was my personal private piggy bank. One dollar a stick, either Camel unfiltered or Kool Menthol.

I had a problem with an apparently schizophrenic guy who would show up every night at 6:30 and pick soggy smoked butts out of the ashtray out front so he could salvage the tobacco. We switched to one of those long and skinny sealed ones, and he'd steal them after we closed up in a fit of impotent rage.
