Next year Disney would turn Pirates of the Caribbean into a movie, and make billions of dollars. When you're big enough you can substitute Darwinism for strategy. "Make a bunch of things, and whatever works make more of it"

Something about using the dollar sign is throwing off the POETV code, so just to clarify the description, this movie lost ten million dollars.
The plot can best be described as a cross between “The Blues Brothers” and “Garbage Pail Kids”, with the worst puppets Jim Henson Studios has ever made.

This movie was oddly prescient as to what fate would befall Haley Joel Osment later in life.

As dreadful as this movie was, I have to give the production team credit for using actual props, particularly the puppeteers who did really good work with those suits. Despite a train wreck of a script and a cringingly horrible premise they did their best with it.
If Disney were to make this film today they'd just make all the bears CGI, as well as all the environments, and everything else that wasn't a living breathing human being.

Only $10 million? They probably didn't even notice.

cognitivedissonance - 2018-03-19 For real, $10 million is a light weekend's take at Disneyland. Disney can do big failures in a way other studios just can't.
