OPTIMISTIC EXPLANATION: This is a subtle protest against Poland's new far-right government and their law banning people from talking about the Holocaust. To register their displeasure, the news team is having one of their AV people kill virtual Nazis in real time.

MUCH MORE LIKELY EXPLANATION: Mateusz the intern was goofing off at his workstation and accidentally pushed the wrong button. Luckily this happened during the ten minutes each day when he's not looking at porn.

dairyqueenlatifah - 2018-04-01

In European Wolfenstein games you don't kill Nazis as they're edited into being just generic run of the mill soldiers with all traces of Nazi affiliation censored out.

So I'm gonna have to go with the latter explanation, as the overwhelming majority of modern Poland and its media are considerably right wing. Also banning Holocaust discussions is typically what left wing governments do. Poland is just wacky.

boner - 2018-04-01

5 evil stars for Poland making it illegal to tell the truth about the holocaust.

"Also banning Holocaust discussions is typically what left wing governments do."

Just. Stop.

Gmork - 2018-04-01

We all know why you're trying to say that. Tt's transparent and doesn't actually support your politically retarded subtext.

Xenocide - 2018-04-02

To date there is exactly one country on Earth that has banned holocaust discussions since World War II ended and that's right-wing Poland.

Also, most of Europe lets you kill Nazis in Wolfenstein. The game is only edited in Germany (where you can talk about the Holocaust, but not display a swastika, for reasons that can easily be explained by talking about the Holocaust.)

-Hello, caller, you're on the air!

-Yes, I would like to say that there isn't ENOUGH games about killing Hitler!

-Very good. Next caller.

-Hello, I would like to say that I agree with the last caller.

-Yes, Thank you. One last caller. Hello, caller.

-I would like to say that we need to focus on the quality of our Hitler killing. If we don't show Hitler being killed in the right way kids might not grow up knowing who Hitler was and why we had to kill him.

dairyqueenlatifah - 2018-04-01

Ironically I think the surge in Hilter worship we see with kids online is because of the deluge of turning him into a comic book literally Satan super villain rather than saying "Here's who he was and the horrible shit that he did." So now it's the hip edgy "row row fight da powah" thing to do to walk around saying Hitler was a hero who did nothing wrong.

The far-left's war against critical thinking has been the best thing anyone could have ever done to aide a resurgence of far-right ideologies.

Dql is a bottom that never hits bottom, woooo!

Shanghai Tippytap - 2018-04-02

i agree with the top half of what dql said, but i don't think the far-left has been responsible for the gutting of critical thinking in education. if anything, it has more to do with shitty education systems teaching superficial hot takes on history to a generation with the attention span of a goldfish.

the reason that these kids feel like they're gaining forbidden knowledge every time they pick up a book is because they've never been exposed to critical thinking or thoughtful controversy in their lives.

Scrotum H. Vainglorious - 2018-04-02

Plus there's the ever presence push for prepping a generation of kids for STEM only fields so who cares about critical thinking. And for the bottom performing students, they're being taught how to pass state proficiency exams so that the school doesn't look like it's being run by Beavis and Butthead.

bawbag - 2018-04-03

"The far-left's war..."

I remember when you little nazi wannabes tried to hide yourselves better than this.
