Donald Glover rocks. I'll bet he's a great Lando.

Maggot Brain - 2018-04-10

Really makes you wonder why they just didn't make a LANDO movie.

garcet71283 - 2018-04-10

I know right? It seems there would be a lot more room for creative license with his character.

Hopefully he's well enough received that we might get that.

Maggot Brain - 2018-04-10

I've said it before, the are only three characters from Star War that warrant their own movie; Lando, Wedge, and Piett. At lest they canceled that Boba Fett movie. I wound't mind him showing up in other movies but on his own it was a baaaaaaaaaad idea.

SolRo - 2018-04-10

Young adult Boba fett might be worthwhile. Like a darker version of Han Solo’s life.

I’ve found the scummy morally ambiguous underworld aspects of Star Wars much more interesting than the near absolute black or white epic struggle of the main story.

Maggot Brain - 2018-04-10

Speaking of underworld aspects of Star Wars my script for a Piett movie has Vader and him running around busting Jedi pedophile ring. It's fun for the whole family!

betamaxed - 2018-04-09

Looks like more fun than TLJ actually.

jfcaron_ca - 2018-04-09

Yeah, this makes me want to go watch Rogue One which I skipped. Maybe the off-main-plotline ones will be better because they don't have to fit into Lucas' hammy story? Are the new movies even doing that?

Maggot Brain - 2018-04-10

They threw out Lucas's old scripts and ideas long ago However this script was written by Lucas Art back in The 90's. So if you think monkey island aged well you might enjoy this movie.

chumbucket - 2018-04-10

Rogue One is definitely worth a watch.

garcet71283 - 2018-04-10

If you like the Star Wars expanded universe, you will like Rogue One.

Most of the complaints against it are rooted in "it's a movie for fans of Star Wars" which is about as flimsy an argument as it sounds.

spikestoyiu - 2018-04-10

Initially didn't care for Rogue One, but I did a 180 on my second viewing.

Maggot Brain - 2018-04-10

Rouge One was a hot mess but at lest it had it's fun parts.

SolRo - 2018-04-09

If this is about as good as Rogue One then my opinion is that the filler in-between movies are superior to the main plot line.

The stories are just more compelling.

dairyqueenlatifah - 2018-04-09

Really? I thought Rogue One was alright but hands down the third weakest Star Wars film in terms of plot and characters.

SolRo - 2018-04-09

yeah, but you suck and have no taste.

dairyqueenlatifah - 2018-04-09

I can agree with that. But having no taste is still better than having shit taste. ;)

Xenocide - 2018-04-10

Rogue One was okay but ultimately felt more like a hollow cash-grab than the sequel movies, especially with the shoehorned-in cameos by Darth Vader and the living CGI corpse of Peter Cushing.

garcet71283 - 2018-04-10

Of the 3 newest Star Wars movies, I enjoyed Rogue One the most.

Ugh - 2018-04-09

that music blows so much

Ugh - 2018-04-09

just put woody harrelson in a remake of the ewoks cartoon and i'll get by

badideasinaction - 2018-04-09

It’s been infected by Marvel/Disney film score disease sadly.

I hope this is good but I’m not holding my breath.

SolRo - 2018-04-09

Like all Disney properties, i'll see it when the blurays come out on piratebay.

Maggot Brain - 2018-04-10

At lest they're trying something to do something new with the music. I dare you hum the melody from Rey's theme or Kylo's image song.

Maggot Brain - 2018-04-10

there should be an infinitive somewhere in there.

Meerkat - 2018-04-09

I dunno man looks kinda Christmas Special.

cognitivedissonance - 2018-04-09

I WILL ENJOY PRETENDING TO LOVE THIS BECAUSE IT GETS ME HITS ON TWITTER.

Chancho - 2018-04-10

FINALLY WE MIGHT GET TO SEE ITCHY AND LUMPY IN A REAL MOVIE! DID YOU KNOW THAT LUMPY'S REAL NAME IS LUMPAWARRUMP?????!!!

Xenocide - 2018-04-10

HAVE YOU EVER WONDERED WHAT JABBA'S PARENTS WERE LIKE? YES YOU HAVE, YOU FUCKING LIAR. SUMMER 2021, THEY'RE GETTING THEIR OWN MOVIE, AND YOU'RE GOING TO SHUT UP AND WATCH IT OR WE'LL RELEASE A NEW VERSION OF TOY STORY 3 WHERE THEY ALL DIE IN THE TRASH COMPACTOR.

garcet71283 - 2018-04-10

That would have been a better ending. I choose not to watch it.

spikestoyiu - 2018-04-10

Word was the guy playing Han couldn't act his way out of a paper bag and uh this trailer doesn't do a lot to disprove those rumors.

StanleyPain - 2018-04-10

What really happened was the original directors supposedly made the film as a super broad comedy and allowed him to basically act like fucking Jim Carrey or something. When Disney saw the dailies and basically word started getting out about where the production was headed, they shit themselves and fired the original directors and hired Ron Howard to come in and re-shoot most of the film to save it by release date. They brought in acting coaches to help everybody get back to a base level instead of acting like they were in an Adam Sandler movie (rumor, but pretty reliable-basically-verified rumor) and try to push the tone into a place where it was supposed to be. Apparently the production, pre-Ron Howard's involvement, was mindblowingly awful. So....at this point the movie might turn out to be OK, who knows, but it's pretty rare that a movie that was drastically reshot/altered/edited late in production to "save" it actually turns out to be worth a shit.
I mean, look at Fantastic Four, Suicide Squad, Justice League, etc. Trying to "fix" a movie without delaying it significantly has not turned out well recently.

Ugh - 2018-04-10

his acting feels wrong enough that if you replaced chewie with drax i'd easily buy this being a test reel for the part of star lord

cognitivedissonance - 2018-04-11

I kind of look forward to a point where Star Wars can tolerate multiple genres. The shame here is that Han Solo should be a noir thriller, not a comedy. A comedy set in Jabba's palace would, however, be reasonable.
