Arkoff is one of the original masters of schlock as he had a formula dubbed the "Arkoff Formula" used to develop content for a successful low-budget movie:
- Action (exciting, entertaining drama)
- Revolution (novel or controversial themes and ideas)
- Killing (a modicum of violence)
- Oratory (notable dialogue and speeches)
- Fantasy (acted-out fantasies common to the audience)
- Fornication (sex appeal, for young adults)
Additionally he understood how to sell schlock via a promotion strategy known as the "Peter Pan Syndrome"
- A younger child will watch anything an older child will watch.
- An older child will not watch anything a younger child will watch.
- A girl will watch anything a boy will watch.
- A boy will not watch anything a girl will watch.

Old_Zircon - 2018-06-21 That's a pretty good formula, although I'm partial to Fred Olen Ray's, myself:
"Nudity is the cheapest special effect."

Binro the Heretic - 2018-06-21
"Jaws" opened in theaters on my 5th birthday. Within a month, it was a huge phenomenon. It started the trend of the summer blockbuster.
It also inspired a lot of cheap knock-offs. And while most might have been cheaply made, some were actually really good with complex plots.
Not this one, of course, but it sure is fun to watch.

Old_Zircon - 2018-06-21 I've still never gotten around to seeing Blades, which is from 77 or 78 and is Jaws but the shark is a riding mower, the boat is a golf cart and the ocean is a golf course.

Hammer Falls - 2018-06-21
The soundtrack by Steven Cipriani is magnificent.
