Gotta respect the time and effort required to carve out this type of utterly boring existence.

Jeeze. Welcome to the lady-dominated version of what happens to a good chunk of isolated basement internet dorks from the 90s. Fandom is a horrible place.. as most PoeRed people can attest to. It's pretty close to Furry level in tiny tumblr Sherlock/FF/Hannibal/Dexter whatever communities, and mostly female. I knew Jen and Hojo from the ffvii house a little bit due to being involved in horrible internet rpg fandom in the late 90s/early oughts (I was literally a child, so don't judge too much).

Look up demon-sushi/jenova for a really long, horrible smelly time full of mental illness/abuse. She needs to be 40 at this point and is still entrapping/drama-tronning broken basement people for fun and profit. Their lives are so sad and small that not only do they need to latch on to/mind LARP into ready-made media and narratives to fill the void, but they need to step all over each other and manufacture drama. Even the person making this stuff is trying to hype up their insular pedantic drama for attention, in a way.

I don't know. This shit is simultaneously depressing and boring. It's a fascinating big picture thing to armchair analyze but I honestly can't sit here and listen to them break down otherkin micro-aggressions and hurt feefees for more than 3 minutes.

Yeah, I listened to just enough to confirm yet again that the people who end up victims in situations like this are usually of the same cloth as their victimizers. Fandom bullshit is one of the few situations where victim blaming is kind of warranted.

Back in the mod 2000s a friend of mine had a coworker who went to Yellowstone on vacation. My friend is pretty outdoorsy and recommended a good trail. After the trip, the coworker came back and said he tried to go on the trail but it was closed because the day before he arrived a tourist had been killed by a grizzly on it. The tourist had no real experience outdoors but he really wanted to see a bear, so what he did was he filled the pockets of his jacket with a pound of raw bacon and went out into the woods hoping the bacon smell would attract one. And it did.

Getting seriously involved in fandom is like filling your pockets with bacon and going out into the woods in bear country.

There are at least ten more videos AFTER this one and she is releasing a new one every week according to her web site.
