infinite zest - 2018-08-11 I used to really like ATHF, probably until about the time of Happy Time Harry, which ironically was one of my favorite episodes. The unprecedented darkness of suicide jokes laced with hillbillies with night-vision goggles was what got lots of people talking about the show, but it was likk the writers took that as a cue to make each episode darker and more "edgy" than the one that preceded it.

gravelstudios - 2018-08-14 I really enjoyed the show in college (no surprise there), and kept watching AS after I graduated, but lost interest in ATHF right around Bible Fruit. I have gone back and watched some of the newer episodes that I missed, but I think I just grew out of it.

It was always about funny voice actor dudes goofing off to me, more than any kind of LOL RANDOM humor. I mean, it's completely fueled by it, sure - but that's more like the flimsy pretext in which the voice actors work.
But I mean, you can get all insecure if you think liking it makes other people think less of you.

Mr. Purple Cat Esq. - 2018-08-11 Yeah. A lot of Adult swim stuff is kinda similar in that regard. Sealab, ATHF, even 'your pretty face is going to hell' - the live action show.
In those 3 shows, everything is just excuse to let the actors *be* funny. Theres no plot, or character arcs, or story circle, or other predictable boring drama writing 101 bullshit.
Thats why I find them so entertaining. Genuinely funny combined with not boring.
