Mr. Purple Cat Esq. - 2018-08-23
Collapse.. Is this here cus it looks so shit? Or cus u actually think it looks good?
It looks like it was cobbled together with stock components in Unreal.
Even the footage in their *promo video* looks janky af.
It looks like this will be a buggy mess.
Also just to briefly dip into more subjective issues. The cartoony fantasy characters (which are ok imo) seem completely at odds with the harsh realistic lighting / textures, and also the harsh realistic-seeming hitscan type shooting.

Mr. Purple Cat Esq. - 2018-08-23 Ps. That post was very negative, but, thats just my honest opinion.
If u think its good and are pumped, then great! As long as u have fun! Thats all that matters.

The Switch like most of Nintendo's consoles is an underpowered baby toy with last gen graphics and a lame gimmick.

Mr. Purple Cat Esq. - 2018-08-23 Graphics hasnt made a difference in whats possible since the early 90's.
For decades anyone could easily have amazing graphics. But game design is what counts.
Some of the best games ever are decades old, still havent been surpassed, and are still as good now. Eg. xcom, deus-ex.
There are a lot of games nowadays that look good but whose designer couldnt game-design their way out of a paper bag.

Mr. Purple Cat Esq. - 2018-08-23 In fact I'd say we went through a period from the late 90's to just recent times of *especially* bad games.
When the console and games in general market grew in the 90's big companies got heavily involved and wanted to churn out games. Colleges also wanted to churn out game devs. So we went from games being made by random enthusiast weirdos, to them being made by people who did 'media' courses.. Where they were basically taught film and drama. So we had a generation of games made by people who werent aware or even interested in the strengths of the medium. They tried to make shitty film / game hybrid, working against the mediums strengths.
Things have been getting better recently though. With the indie scene and anyone being able to make and sell a game, its back to the random weirdos.. Guys like Zachtronic industries are making games that make sony, EA, etc look like the shit they are.

Cena_mark - 2018-08-24 They didn't even include a blast processor with the SNES despite the fact that last processing technology had already been available for at least 2 years. The only generation where they had the most powerful system was with the N64.

Chicken the Did - 2018-08-24 Yeah, I wasn't going to bring up cultural appropriation but yeah... The skull faces seem so out of place and tacked on too.
