It's very cool, but why's it so short? Why send a probe out there, with the capacity to film, but then only have it beam back 2 seconds of film?

The bandwidth to SPACE is low. I would assume they are prioritizing getting science data / telemetry

Its a series of photos, and they will be taking plenty more. These are just the first two of three "jumping rovers", there is another lander, and a series of maneuvers to take surface samples for eventual return to earth. This mission is just getting underway
