what
That thing didn't move anything like a dog. And it's behavior *certainly* wasn't dog-like.

If Chase is freaking out, you know you're in trouble.

Bright lights, babbling lady, camera crew and presumably an uplink van, and the mountain lion is totally nonplussed by it all. What a whack time we live in.

That must be one of those fancy short-tailed, long-muzzled, dog-eared mountain lions all the kids are talking about.
|
Meerkat - 2018-10-08 As a a nature buff I have to say it's "Inconclusive" given the provided video only shows the back. But from the back it looks like a cougar.
|
Binro the Heretic - 2018-10-08 The body is the wrong shape. You can see the long narrow muzzle in profile when it's futzing around back in the tall grass. I'm pretty sure the reporter would know the difference between a feline face and a canine face.
And the tail is far too short & fuzzy.
It is a cougar color, though.
|
Meerkat - 2018-10-08 I was more thinking the shoulderblades didn't look right and it was a little small for a cougar. You don't really get a good look at the snout from the back though. From the front it would be way more obvious.
|
blase - 2018-10-08 A mountain lion's tail is even longer than that. Weird looking tail for a dog, though.

It's been confirmed to be a domestic dog by the pawprints and the owner of the animal.

blase - 2018-10-10 It appears to be an old dog, which might explain the slower gait and tail carried low like a cat.
