June (shoe0nhead) used to be a fan of Catie, and I sort of knew her but not really through the Boxxysphere community. She could be a jerk, but her videos were always smart and funny, and it was kind of sad to see her take a bad turn.

At one time she was dating a guy who called himself GMaster, (a gamer, right?) He was a fucking asshole, and he became my arch nemesis. He actually photoshopped my head and Lisa's head (Catie's Mom) onto a sleazy picture and posted it in Encyclopedia Dramatica. It was actually pretty funny, but what a douchebag!

All that stuff about June and GMaster and Encyclopedia Dramatica is based on rumor and speculation. It would be irresponsible of me not to mention that.

I know a lot of people who strangely support Trump just out of hate for SJWs. My cousin was backing Trump's Supreme Court pick, yet is a pro-choice atheist. Sure Trump's Supreme Court will destroy abortion rights and the separation between church and state, but you gotta piss off those damned SJWs.

I think my feminist credentials in here are pretty solid, but women don't own feminism. If men need to change AND THEY DO, that means men need to be fully engaged, and THAT means that this is no less about my life than about yours. I'm all in. I'm not an "ally". I'm a feminist.

But I am a man, and I tend to see things differently than women. I wasn't born understanding other people, or, for that matter, myself. So there can be conflict. Sometimes, about 50 per cent of the time, maybe just a little bit more, I turn out to be "clueless" or "unevolved" or some other form of "wrong". But I've learned a lot, and the GIF of a guy getting punched in balls with a boxing glove didn't really speed up the process.

On the other hand, welcome to the human race, JHM. There have been times when I have been mistaken online for a woman, and you feel the hostility right through the screen. So if I sometimes feel judged harshly for being a white male, that's not exactly right, but things have to get a whole lot worse, before I get to pay "THE VICTIM CARD". What I experience is just a little tiny sliver of what women and people of color experience all the time.

White privilege is the luxury of being outraged about taking a knee or comic book diversity instead of young men being shot dead for reaching for their cell phone.

Like I was saying, it never made me turn in to one of the anti-SJW twats, it just alienated me from a lot of left-leaning dialogue because I got sick of people saying ignorant shit that was playing into the right's stereotypes of them.

Anyhow, after 2016 everyone who was indulging in that shit flailed around and wrung their hands and got "woke" and and they're at least back to a late 90s level of discourse now, which is an improvement at least.


I think I'm extra cynical about political tribalism from living in New England, too, our democrats are to the right of Nixon on a lot of issues and the party machine is strong.

It was always disappointing to see that guy flagrantly, willfully misrepresenting and cherrypicking the words of MRA/PUA types for the sake of clickbait when it was totally unnecessary because the things they actually said were more than enough to work with. It was just embarrassing and it certainly didn't do anything but help swell the ranks of Gamergaters (who went on to be one of the main recruitment grounds for the alt-right and the literal white supremacists and nazis a year or two down the line) by feeding their persecution complexes.

I'm no fan of Chapo Trap House ad their fans but at least they don't shy away from calling attention to that shit (even though they're kind of the opposite side of the same coin).

It's the fucking internet, man. I'm convinced that the internet has made me a much better person, who cares and understands others, and it's a reasonable hypothesis that many others are experiencing something similar. But empathy isn't making me internet famous. There was a moment like maybe a year ago, when Twitter changed its format, and it would have had to change its algorithm at the same time. That was the moment when my retweets, and the slow growth of my twitter followers just stopped dead. Three hundred followers has been this crazy glass ceiling. I've gotten as high as 310, and right now I'm at 290. The algorithm doesn't like me any more. The algorithm likes Paul Joseph Watson.

What if the internet is making the world a better place, while making it look like a worse place?

Racism is not rational, so it's practically impossible to prove that someone is racist by a rational argument. Calling someone a racist shouldn't be your go-to argument because it's usually not an arguement.

On the other hand. when I get logic like " How is Trump calling MS-13 racist, when MS-13 is not a race?" my go-to response is "suck my dick".
