This is well directed as far as I can tell. The subject matter is so mundane, but the way things are arranged is consistently very unnatural and perfectly geometric, that makes it visually interesting.
Also what the characters are *doing* is part of it.. eg. after dan mentions butthole, the other guy rejects the ball he throws, like hes rejecting the idea, and then plays catch intensely with the other guy as they both try to ignore dans disturbing butthole revelations.
When u put it all together with good acting and script, it make for something thats fun to watch.

I just keep thinking how this is leagues better than the direction of the star wars prequels, where everyones having these expositional conversations while, standing, sitting then standing, walking, sitting in a chair etc.
