Ok I missed the evolution part. Tell me where to pause it.

Exegesis_Saves - 2007-06-03

The last 30 seconds hit too close to home, didn't they? Sorry for not finding the video of the female chimpanzee pumping out a pink, hairless human.

baleen - 2007-06-04

"If you don't convince somebody to copulate with you then your genes will die and you won't have any descendants." There you go Enjoy. Actually, maybe there is a God...

fluffy - 2007-06-04

How about the whole fucking video?

fluffy - 2007-06-04

(no pun actually intended but hey let's pretend I'm witty)

Enjoy - 2007-06-04

I mean where's the part where one species turns into another? Evolution videos always leave out the "evolution."

Herr Matthias - 2007-06-04

It's the part that starts when you press the "play" button.

Camonk - 2007-06-04

Pause it I guess about 20 or 30 years ago when you should've learned to at least pay attention when smart people talk.

Enjoy - 2007-06-04

You dicks made me watch the whole thing again just to make sure I didn't miss it. Nothing evolves in this video. Maybe retitle this thing to:

The Minnow Experiment: Tax-payer funded beardo learns how genetic diversity effects parasite attacks and has shit to do with evolution.

minimalist - 2007-06-04

Were the words not small enough for you?

It is a clear demonstration of the competitive advantage of sexual reproduction, hence a plausible mechanism for why it evolved and persisted, which for a long time was one of the lingering questions about evolution. People had long suspected this was the answer, largely because sexual species were demonstrably much more resistant to extinction, but this was one of the clearest experimental demonstrations.

I hope you also realize that if you're looking for conclusive evidence that MAN WUZ MONEKY you're going to have to look in many places other than a single 10-minute YouTube clip dealing with one specific question in an incredibly broad and information-rich field.

Places like "books", for instance.

Enjoy - 2007-06-04

I have a book. The Good Book -- so I know God created the universe. It's always interesting to study science, which is studying God's creation, but evolution (or to be clear: speciation) appears to be junk science to prop up the humanist view.

baleen - 2007-06-04

Now you're just trolling in an attempt to conceal your own stupidity. That's typical Enjoy, I suppose.

minimalist - 2007-06-04

Nah, I do think he's been trolling all along. He's like that with most of his comments here, but this is one of the few topics where someone can successfully push my buttons without much effort. I deal with creationists far too much to be healthy.

Tetsuo - 2007-06-04

I love how Enjoy expects evolution to suddenly happen like in Pokemon.
"What? MINNOW is evolving!
Congratulations! Your MINNOW has evolved into SEAKING!"

Syd Midnight - 2007-06-11

HAY GUYS I spent an hour watching a tree and it didn't grow any new branches or anything at all this is BS unless one of you can tell me what time of day to look to see an acorn turn into an oak tree lol. (All the "younger" and "older" trees are a test of faith they were made that way).

Hint: Learn to apply big numbers like "billion" or "quadrillion" to things besides money.

Herr Matthias - 2007-06-03

William Burns - 2007-06-03

Oh, Enjoy, you lovable retard!

mysterycar - 2007-06-04

the sexual fish would be a good name for a band

mysterycar - 2007-06-04

for that matter, "hey baby, wanna engage in the best defence against rapidly evolving enemies?" is probably a good pick up line, if you are talking to an evolutionary biologist

AND it had the lyrebird making camera noises

AND peacocks, the coolest bird of all

what a video!

Shion - 2007-06-04

+ 4 for Red Queen Hypothesis

Endoris - 2007-06-04

The clones were doing quite well, thank you.

simon666 - 2007-06-04

science shows the weakness with inbreeding, yes!

Enjoy - 2007-06-04

wrong simon! this is a video about evolution... somehow

simon666 - 2007-06-05

either enjoy is a muckraker or an irrationalist. this video is an illustration of evolutionary theory being played out in an observable way. the fish does not need to grow wings or extra gills in three life cycles to 'show' evolution. and btw, 2+2=4 not because thats what the numbers tell us. it's be cause we can observe a relation taking place. || (two pipes) + || (two more pipes) = |||| (four pipes!)

Syd Midnight - 2007-06-11

Simon: Unless you connect them and make 1 big pipe! CREATION WINS!

Camonk - 2007-06-04

Man evolution where did all these people come from? Explain that! Oh. You did. Aw-awesome?

Namor - 2007-07-05

Is there an evolutionary advantage to willfull ignorance? Because signs are pointing to "YES".
